The beaches of Volusia County, with New Smyrna Beach as the hub, are the most beautiful on the eastern coast of Florida. An amazing 13 miles of beach area is open to the public. New Smyrna Beach has two downtown areas, Canal Street (on the mainland) and Flagler Avenue (on beach side); both have plenty of dining and boutique shopping options. Daytona with its exciting night life, motor sports and motorcycle activities is just a short drive north. Canaveral National Seashore, with its spectacular natural beauty, and Kennedy Space Center is a day trip south.
